New Delhi: The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Takamol for Business Services have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in vocational training, skill assessment and workforce development.
The agreement builds on their existing partnership under the Skill Verification Programme (SVP) and aims to enhance training quality, assessment standards and employment opportunities for skilled Indian professionals seeking to work in international markets.
Skill Verification Programme Assesses Nearly 3 Lakh Candidates
The Skill Verification Programme was launched as a pilot in 2023 to help skilled Indian workers access employment opportunities in Saudi Arabia through a structured skill verification system. Since its launch, the programme has assessed nearly 3 lakh candidates across 83 occupations.
The initiative is designed to create a more transparent and trusted mechanism for verifying the skills and professional capabilities of workers before they enter international employment markets.

New MoU to Strengthen Training and Assessment
The latest agreement will provide NSDC and Takamol with an expanded framework for cooperation in training and skill assessment.
Key areas of focus include:
- Improving the quality of vocational training.
- Strengthening skill assessment standards.
- Enhancing workforce readiness.
- Developing better employment pathways.
- Supporting international mobility for skilled Indian professionals.
The collaboration is expected to help create stronger links between skill development and global employment requirements.
Focus on Global Employment Opportunities
With increasing numbers of Indian professionals seeking employment overseas, structured skill verification is becoming an important part of international workforce mobility. The partnership between NSDC and Takamol is aimed at helping skilled workers demonstrate their professional capabilities through recognised and transparent assessment mechanisms.
This can support employers in identifying qualified workers while giving Indian professionals greater confidence when pursuing overseas employment opportunities.
Skill Verification Programme Eyes Expansion to Other Markets
The Skill Verification Programme is also looking to expand its reach beyond Saudi Arabia. Upcoming engagements, including those with Oman, are expected to create additional pathways for Indian workers seeking international employment.
The expansion would help extend structured skill assessment mechanisms to more overseas markets and support the development of a workforce that meets global employment standards.
Partnership Supports Future-Ready Indian Workforce
The new MoU reflects a broader effort to prepare Indian workers for changing international labour markets. By combining vocational training, skill verification and workforce development, NSDC and Takamol aim to strengthen skill excellence and make international mobility more efficient for Indian professionals.
The initiative is expected to contribute to the development of a future-ready Indian workforce equipped to compete for employment opportunities across global markets.
