NTPC Bongaigaon Elevates Arnab Maitra as Executive Director to Strengthen Operational Excellence

Delhi: NTPC Limited has elevated Mr. Arnab Maitra, Head of Project and Business Unit Head of NTPC Bongaigaon, to the position of Executive Director. The announcement marks a significant leadership development within one of NTPC’s key thermal power stations in Assam.

Maitra has been leading NTPC Bongaigaon since January 2025 and has been instrumental in improving operational performance, reliability, safety standards, and stakeholder engagement at the 750 MW (3×250 MW) flagship power plant.

Career Journey of Mr. Arnab Maitra

Mr. Arnab Maitra is a seasoned power sector professional with over three decades of experience in thermal power generation and plant management.

He joined NTPC Limited as an Executive Trainee in 1989 after completing his Mechanical Engineering degree from the erstwhile Regional Engineering College Durgapur. He later pursued M.Tech in Power Generation Technology from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, strengthening his technical and leadership foundation.

Experience Across Major NTPC Stations

During his distinguished career, Mr. Maitra has served at several major NTPC generating stations, including:

  • NTPC Farakka
  • NTPC Vindhyachal
  • NTPC Korba
  • NTPC Darlipali

Across these assignments, he contributed to improving plant performance, operational efficiency, maintenance systems, and implementation of best practices in thermal power operations.
