NTPC Green Energy Adds 66.18 MW Solar Capacity in Rajasthan, Group Capacity Hits 11,328.69 MW

Bikaner: NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has announced the commencement of commercial operations of a 66.18 MW solar power capacity block at the Kalasar Solar Energy Project in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

The new capacity became commercially operational from 00:00 hours on October 10, 2026, according to the company’s regulatory disclosure under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

The project is being developed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited. The latest commissioning represents another addition to the company’s expanding renewable energy portfolio.

Following the addition, the total commercial capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited group has risen to 11,328.69 MW from the previously reported 11,262.51 MW.

Kalasar Solar Project: Key Details

The latest capacity addition forms part of the broader solar energy development undertaken by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited in Rajasthan.

NTPC Green Energy’s Previous Commissioning Milestones at Kalasar

The latest commissioning follows earlier phases of the Kalasar Solar Energy Project that became operational in September and October 2026.

The first part of the project, comprising 81.34 MW, was commissioned with effect from September 26, 2026.

Subsequently, the second and third parts, with a combined capacity of 153.94 MW, were declared commercially operational from October 1, 2026.

The company also reported a 50 MW solar capacity commissioning in Rajasthan, which contributed to the group’s commercial capacity reaching 11,262.51 MW with effect from October 2, 2026.

The commissioning of the additional 66.18 MW block on October 10 has further increased the group’s commercial capacity to 11,328.69 MW.These phase-wise additions demonstrate the progressive development of the Kalasar project and the expansion of NTPC Green Energy’s renewable power portfolio.

Kalasar Project Linked to 500 MW REMCL Round-the-Clock Project

The Kalasar Solar Energy Project forms part of the 650 MW solar component associated with the 500 MW REMCL Round-the-Clock (RTC) Project of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited.

The RTC project is designed around a broader power supply arrangement, with solar generation forming an important component of the renewable energy capacity. The development of solar capacity at Kalasar supports NTPC Green Energy’s strategy of increasing renewable electricity generation through large-scale projects.

Located in Rajasthan, the project benefits from the region’s solar energy potential and contributes to the expansion of utility-scale renewable energy infrastructure.

NTPC Green Energy Expands Its Renewable Energy Portfolio

With the latest addition, NTPC Green Energy’s group commercial capacity has increased to 11,328.69 MW. The commissioning reflects the company’s continued progress in bringing renewable energy projects into commercial operation.
