NTPC to Establish STEM Labs in 27 Ri-Bhoi Schools with ₹1.48 Crore Boost for Hands-On Learning

New Delhi: NTPC Limited has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Ri-Bhoi District Administration to establish STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) laboratories in 27 government schools, marking a major push toward improving education infrastructure and skill development.

The agreement was formalized on April 30, 2026, aiming to promote hands-on, experiential learning among students in the district.

MoA Signed in Presence of Key Officials

The signing ceremony was attended by Abhilash Baranwal, Deputy Commissioner of Ri-Bhoi District, and Amit Kr. Asthana, Head of HR at NTPC Bongaigaon, along with senior officials from both organizations.

This collaboration reflects a strong commitment to advancing education through public-sector initiatives.

₹1.48 Crore Investment for Modern STEM Infrastructure

Under this initiative, NTPC will invest up to ₹1.48 crore to set up fully equipped STEM labs across the selected schools.

Key Features of the STEM Labs:

  • Robotics kits for practical learning
  • Renewable energy models
  • Electronics and circuit modules
  • Digital learning tools and smart aids

The project is designed to create an engaging and interactive learning environment for students.

Focus on Teacher Training and Long-Term Sustainability

In addition to infrastructure development, the initiative will include:

  • Comprehensive teacher training programs
  • Continuous maintenance and technical support
  • Periodic monitoring and evaluation

The Ri-Bhoi District Administration will oversee implementation, while NTPC will conduct regular reviews to ensure quality and long-term impact.
