Guwahati: Numaligarh Refinery Limited has signed a long-term sulphur offtake agreement with Teesta Agro Industries Limited, marking a key step in strengthening its post-expansion marketing strategy and ensuring stable demand for its sulphur output.
The agreement was signed on June 2, 2026, in Guwahati.
10-Year Long-Term Supply Agreement Structure
Under the agreement, Numaligarh Refinery Limited will supply up to 15,000 metric tonnes of lump-form sulphur annually to Teesta Agro Industries Limited.
Key highlights of the deal:
- Annual supply: Up to 15,000 MT sulphur
- Product form: Lump sulphur
- Tenure: 10 years
- Extension option: Up to 2 additional years based on performance
- End use: Fertilizer manufacturing raw material
The agreement ensures a steady industrial buyer for NRL’s sulphur output while providing consistent raw material supply for agro-industrial use.
Strengthening Post-Expansion Marketing Strategy
The deal is part of Numaligarh Refinery Limited’s broader strategy to effectively commercialize output from its expanded refining capacity.
This agreement follows another recent sulphur offtake deal signed with Progressive Fertichem Private Limited, reflecting NRL’s growing focus on building a diversified customer base for by-products.
