New Delhi: Oil India Limited (OIL) has received the Appreciation Award 2026 in recognition of its continued efforts towards nurturing young talent, promoting skill development and strengthening capacity-building initiatives through apprenticeship programmes.

The award was presented on September 5, 2026, during the Regional Apprenticeship Day celebrations held at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in Kolkata. The event was organised by the Board of Practical Training (BoPT), Eastern Region, under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Oil India Recognised for Apprenticeship Initiatives

The Appreciation Award 2026 acknowledges Oil India’s sustained commitment to developing skilled talent through structured apprenticeship opportunities.

The recognition was presented to OIL for its efforts in fostering practical training and supporting skill development through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS), administered by the Board of Practical Training (Eastern Region), Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Through its apprenticeship initiatives, OIL provides young trainees with opportunities to gain practical exposure and develop industry-relevant skills.

Award Presented During Regional Apprenticeship Day

The award ceremony was held on September 5, 2026, as part of the annual Regional Apprenticeship Day celebrations in Kolkata.

The programme brought together stakeholders involved in apprenticeship training and skill development and recognised organisations contributing to the development of trained and capable talent.

The award reflects OIL’s continued participation in the national apprenticeship ecosystem and its contribution to workforce development.

The Appreciation Award 2026 was received on behalf of Oil India Limited by Bibhuti Baruah, Senior Manager (HR Learning), OIL, and Dr Basanta Khanikar, Manager (HR Learning), OIL.

Their presence at the award ceremony represented OIL’s contribution to apprenticeship training and its continued efforts towards developing future talent.

The recognition also underlines the importance of collaboration between organisations and government-led apprenticeship programmes in strengthening India’s skilled workforce.
