Dispur: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) to provide ₹20 crore in CSR support for the restoration and rebuilding of approximately 650–700 schools affected by the 2026 Assam floods.
The agreement was signed on August 21, 2026, at Janata Bhawan, Dispur. The initiative will primarily focus on flood-affected schools in Sivasagar and Charaideo districts, with restoration work targeted for completion within seven months from the release of CSR funds.
ONGC to Support Restoration of 650–700 Flood-Affected Schools
Under the CSR initiative, ONGC will provide ₹20 crore to support the restoration of approximately 650–700 schools damaged by the severe floods in Assam. The initiative is aimed at helping affected educational institutions return to a safe and functional condition at the earliest.

The restoration programme will particularly focus on schools in Sivasagar and Charaideo, among the areas affected by the floods.
The damage to educational infrastructure disrupted normal schooling for children in several communities. The restoration initiative is expected to help schools resume regular activities in safer and improved facilities.
Restoration Work Targeted for Completion in Seven Months
According to the agreement, the restoration work is envisaged to be completed within seven months from the release of the CSR funds.The initiative will focus on restoring damaged school infrastructure so that students can return to functional learning environments as quickly as possible.
The collaboration between ONGC and ASDMA is expected to support coordinated implementation of the restoration efforts.
