PESB Recommends Anoop Kumar Rai for Director (Marketing) at BEL After Competitive Selection Process

New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Anoop Kumar Rai for the position of Director (Marketing) at Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Schedule ‘A’ Defence Public Sector Undertaking.

The recommendation was made during PESB Meeting No. 39/2026 held on May 19, 2026, in New Delhi.

Senior BEL Executive Selected After Competitive Interview Process

Anoop Kumar Rai currently serves as Executive Director at Bharat Electronics Limited. He was selected after a competitive interview process involving senior executives from defence and public sector organisations.

The Director (Marketing) role is considered one of the key leadership positions within BEL, responsible for driving business expansion, strategic partnerships, defence contracts, and marketing operations.

12 Senior Executives Appeared Before PESB Panel

The PESB panel interviewed 12 candidates from leading public sector organisations, including BEL, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), and Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL).

Some of the prominent candidates included:

  • Kappagantula Srinivas – General Manager, BEL
  • Giriraja Nandavaram – General Manager, BEL
  • Tribhuwan Narayana Singh – GM HR, BEL
  • Niti Pandit – GM & Unit Head, BEL Pune
  • Manjula Devi N – GM, Missile Systems SBU, BEL
  • Dr. Chandana Viswanadham – General Manager, BEL
  • Daya Nand Katyayan – Senior GM, BSNL
  • Commodore Neeraj Uday – GM, ECIL
  • Sanjeev Kumar Agrawal – Chief GM, Defence Production

The interviews focused on leadership capability, strategic vision, and sector expertise.

Final Appointment Subject to Government Approval

Following PESB’s recommendation, the proposal will now move through the standard approval process before the final appointment is cleared by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

The appointment is expected to strengthen BEL’s leadership team amid growing opportunities in India’s defence manufacturing and electronics sectors.

BEL Focuses on Expanding Defence and Electronics Business

The selection of a new Director (Marketing) comes at a time when BEL is witnessing strong business growth, a rising order book, and increased participation in indigenous defence projects under the government’s “Make in India” initiative.

The role will be crucial in expanding BEL’s domestic and international market presence.
