New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Ambrish Tripathi, General Manager and Unit Head of Bharat Electronics Limited’s (BEL) Kotdwara Unit, for appointment as the next Director (Human Resources) of Bharat Electronics Limited, a Navratna Defence PSU.
The recommendation was made during a high-level PESB meeting held on Thursday, May 14, 2026. Once approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) and after the completion of vigilance and other mandatory clearances, Tripathi will join BEL’s Board of Directors.
He will fill the vacancy created following the retirement of Vikraman N, the former Director (HR), who demitted office several months ago.

Tripathi’s elevation comes at a significant juncture for Bharat Electronics Limited as the defence electronics major continues to expand its domestic manufacturing capabilities, strengthen indigenous defence production, and grow its workforce in line with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat goals.
As Director (HR), he will be responsible for shaping BEL’s human resource strategy, leadership development, industrial relations, talent management, and organizational transformation across the company’s nationwide operations.
