New Delhi: Punjab National Bank (PNB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to streamline and digitize civic payment collections through the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS). The initiative aims to strengthen Delhi’s digital governance framework and improve convenience for citizens making municipal payments.
Seamless Digital Payments for Civic Services
The collaboration will enable residents of Delhi to make various municipal payments such as taxes, fees, and other civic dues through a secure, interoperable, and unified digital platform under BBPS.
By integrating BBPS, the system will offer:
- Easy access to multiple payment channels
- Faster and more transparent transaction processing
- A secure and standardized payment experience
This move is expected to significantly enhance the efficiency of civic service delivery in the national capital.

MoU Signed in Presence of Senior Officials
The agreement was formally signed by:
- Dr. Satyendra Singh Dursawat (IAS), Additional Commissioner, MCD
- Mr. Rajesh Bhowmick, Chief General Manager & Zonal Head (Delhi), Punjab National Bank
The signing ceremony was attended by several senior officials, including:
- Mr. Debarchan Sahoo, General Manager (SLBC)
- Mr. Alok Kumar, CAC Head (Delhi)
- Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Branch Head (ECE House)
- Senior representatives from both MCD and PNB
Their presence highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership in strengthening digital infrastructure for civic administration.
