Hyderabad: Public sector lender Punjab National Bank (PNB) has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Telangana to provide customized salary accounts and integrated insurance benefits for state government employees.
The agreement aims to strengthen institutional banking services while offering enhanced financial and insurance facilities to employees across various departments in the state.
Agreement Signed in Presence of Telangana Leadership
The MoU was signed in the presence of Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, highlighting the state government’s focus on improving employee welfare and financial services.
The agreement was formally signed by Mrs. Vandana Pandey, Zonal Manager (Hyderabad), representing Punjab National Bank, along with senior government officials and banking representatives.

- Zero-balance salary accounts with customized banking features

The partnership also includes a comprehensive insurance framework for employees, offering:

These benefits aim to enhance the overall welfare package for Telangana state employees.
Boost to PNB’s Retail Expansion Strategy
The agreement marks a significant step for Punjab National Bank in expanding its retail and institutional presence in South India.
By onboarding a large base of government employees, the bank aims to:
- Strengthen its low-cost CASA deposit base
- Expand cross-selling opportunities
- Offer housing, vehicle, and personal loan products
- Increase digital banking adoption among salaried customers
