New Delhi: Mr Praveen Kumar, Managing Director of Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), conducted an extensive field visit and on-site inspection of key Gati Shakti Multimodal Cargo Terminals (GCTs) along the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) on 10 February 2026. The inspection, conducted aboard a railcar, enabled a real-time assessment of the corridor and terminal infrastructure, aimed at accelerating commissioning and strengthening India’s trade and logistics ecosystem under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.
Objective of the Inspection
The visit was designed to:
- Review ground-level execution and identify operational and infrastructure bottlenecks.
- Assess construction progress, infrastructure readiness, and operational preparedness at Gati Shakti terminals.
- Issue directives to expedite commissioning, thereby enhancing logistics efficiency, reducing costs, and improving trade connectivity.
Praveen Kumar emphasized the need for timely resolution of technical, administrative, and coordination-related issues to ensure seamless logistics services for industries, exporters, and traders.

Terminals and Locations Reviewed
Special focus was placed on terminals at:
Haryana: New Dharuhera, New Station (between New Dharuhera & New Tauru near Salarpur Industrial Area), and New Rewari.
Rajasthan: New Malikpur and New Sakhun.
The review included road-rail connectivity, integration with existing railway infrastructure, and operational preparedness for innovative services such as Trucks on Train (ToT) and High-Speed Small Cargo services. Officials highlighted that early commissioning of these terminals would significantly enhance multimodal integration, shorten transit times, and boost the railways’ modal share.

Interaction with GCT Operators
Mr Kumar held detailed discussions with representatives of GCT operators, including:
- New Dharuhera: M/s SKN
- New Rewari: M/s Emirates Terminals, M/s Pristine
- Salarpur, New Malikpur, New Sakhun: M/s Globecoast Shipping
The interactions focused on addressing operational and infrastructure challenges and ensuring early commissioning of the terminals.
Key Directions and Outcomes
Expedite infrastructure and construction works to ensure timely commissioning.
- Resolve all technical, administrative, and land-related issues in close coordination with State Governments and Central agencies.
- Enhance multimodal integration, reduce logistics costs, shorten transit times, and improve the railways’ share in freight transport.
- Strengthen India’s trade and logistics efficiency while supporting exporters, industries, and domestic commerce.
The inspection reaffirmed DFCCIL’s commitment to improving national logistics infrastructure through Dedicated Freight Corridors and the operationalisation of Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals.
