Amidst a recent development, the state-run transport infrastructure consultancy RITES Limited pledged to take a safety assessment of the Vande Bharat trains. According to their official statement issued on May 6th, RITES has collaborated with an Italian State Railways Group company – ItalCertifier SPA – to carry out an Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) of the flagship Vande Bharat sleeper trains.
It is a momentous development as, through this venture, RITES, the only ISA-certified CPSE, has ventured into a new business domain by committing to advance ISA works by leveraging its expertise in the Quality Assurance segment. In collaboration with the Italian company, RITES shall now conduct design reviews, final safety acceptance assessments and review test results.
