Chandigarh: The Government of Punjab has ordered the transfer and posting of four Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers with immediate effect, bringing significant changes to the state bureaucracy.
The reshuffle is particularly notable for the changes in the Department of Information and Public Relations, Punjab, where both the Administrative Secretary and Director have been reassigned.

The latest administrative reshuffle involves officers handling important portfolios such as Information and Public Relations, Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education and Research, and Water Supply and Sanitation.

Ramvir Given Additional Charge of Water Supply and Sanitation
Ramvir, who was serving as Administrative Secretary, Information and Public Relations, along with the additional responsibility of Commissioner, Jalandhar Division, has been relieved of the Information and Public Relations portfolio.
He will continue as Commissioner, Jalandhar Division, and has now been assigned the additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Water Supply and Sanitation.
Ghanshyam Thori Gets Additional Charge of Medical Education and Research
Ghanshyam Thori, currently serving as Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, and Mission Director of the National Health Mission in Punjab, has been entrusted with an additional responsibility.
He will now also serve as Secretary, Medical Education and Research while retaining his existing assignments.
Puneet Goyal Appointed Special Secretary and Director, Information & Public Relations
Puneet Goyal, who was serving as Special Secretary, Medical Education and Research, has been transferred to the Information and Public Relations Department.
He has been appointed as Special Secretary, Information and Public Relations and will also hold the additional charge of Director, Information and Public Relations.
Akshita Gupta Posted as ADC (General), Ropar
Akshita Gupta, who was serving as Director, Information and Public Relations, has been posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Rupnagar (Ropar) against a vacant post.
Focus on Information & Public Relations Department
The transfer order effectively reshapes the leadership of the Information and Public Relations Department, with both senior-most positions undergoing changes simultaneously. While Ramvir has been moved to Water Supply and Sanitation, Puneet Goyal takes over as Special Secretary and Director. Meanwhile, Akshita Gupta has been shifted to a field posting in Ropar.
Strengthening Health and Medical Education Administration
The state government has also consolidated the Health and Medical Education portfolios by assigning Ghanshyam Thori the additional charge of Medical Education and Research. The move is expected to enhance coordination between healthcare administration and medical education in Punjab.
