RailTel Wins ₹20.35 Crore Himachal Pradesh Contract for MIS-Central Dashboard System in Higher Education

New Delhi: RailTel Corporation of India has secured a ₹20.35 crore contract from the Directorate of Higher Education, Himachal Pradesh, to develop a centralized digital governance system for higher education institutions across the state.

The order marks another major step in the PSU’s expanding role in India’s digital transformation and e-governance initiatives.

MIS-Central Dashboard System for Higher Education

The project involves the development of a Management Information System (MIS) Central Dashboard for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Himachal Pradesh.

The system aims to:

  • Streamline academic data management
  • Enable real-time analytics for authorities
  • Improve transparency in higher education administration
  • Support data-driven decision-making

The contract is expected to strengthen digital governance across colleges and universities in the state.

Long-Term Implementation Plan Till 2031

According to regulatory filings under SEBI norms, the project will be executed and maintained until April 27, 2031, making it a five-year long-term engagement.

The contract is a domestic project involving both infrastructure and software integration.

RailTel Corporation of India confirmed that the deal is not a related-party transaction and has no promoter group involvement.

Strengthening RailTel’s Digital and ICT Portfolio

This contract further expands RailTel’s presence in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector.

The company, originally known for railway telecom and signaling infrastructure, has been increasingly partnering with state governments to deliver:

  • Smart governance platforms
  • Digital education systems
  • Network and data infrastructure solutions

This latest win reinforces its position as a key digital transformation partner for government institutions.

Stock Market Reaction to Order Win

Following the announcement, shares of RailTel Corporation of India rose by 2.35%, reaching an intraday high of ₹338.76 and closing near ₹331.40 on April 28, 2026.

The stock’s movement reflects positive investor sentiment ahead of the company’s upcoming board meeting.
