RailTel Secures ₹107.61 Crore Order from Mahanadi Coalfields for MPLS VPN Network Project

New Delhi: RailTel Corporation of India Limited has won a significant contract worth ₹107.61 crore from Mahanadi Coalfields Limited for the establishment and operation of an MPLS VPN network. The order strengthens RailTel’s growing presence in the telecom and digital infrastructure sector.

The company disclosed the development through a regulatory filing to stock exchanges under SEBI Listing Regulations.

Project Scope: MPLS VPN Network for Five Years

Under the contract, RailTel will be responsible for:

  • Setting up a secure MPLS VPN network for MCL
  • Operating and maintaining the network on a rental basis
  • Providing services for a total duration of 60 months (5 years)

The project is designed to support secure and reliable communication infrastructure across MCL’s operational locations.

Order Value and Timeline

  • Total order value: ₹1,07,60,89,200 (₹107.61 crore, including taxes)
  • Order receipt time: June 30, 2026, at 12:53 PM
  • Execution period: Up to June 30, 2031

The contract has been awarded by a domestic entity and will be executed over the specified five-year period.

Compliance and Regulatory Disclosure

RailTel confirmed that:

  • The contract is not a related-party transaction
  • Neither the promoter nor promoter group entities have any interest in the awarding entity
  • The disclosure has been made in compliance with SEBI Listing Regulations

This ensures transparency in reporting and adherence to governance norms for listed PSUs.

The new order further strengthens RailTel’s position in India’s telecom and digital connectivity space. The company continues to expand its footprint by securing projects from government departments and public sector undertakings, boosting its order book and long-term revenue visibility.
