Raksha Bandhan 2026: Gwalior Ladli Behna Sisters Tie Rakhi to CM Mohan Yadav, Thank Him for Financial Aid

Gwalior: On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Ladli Behna beneficiaries from Gwalior tied rakhis on the wrist of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, sharing a message of affection, trust and gratitude.

The emotional Raksha Bandhan celebration took place at Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Air Terminal in Gwalior, where the Chief Minister was on a transit visit while travelling to Bhind district for the inauguration of Godrej’s fourth unit in the Malanpur industrial area.

The Ladli Behna beneficiaries also presented a thank-you letter to CM Mohan Yadav for providing additional financial assistance under the Ladli Behna Yojana as a Raksha Bandhan gift.

CM Mohan Yadav Reiterates Commitment to Women’s Welfare

The Ladli Behna beneficiaries applied a roli tilak on the Chief Minister’s forehead and tied rakhis on his wrist. CM Mohan Yadav blessed the women and shared an emotional message on the significance of the brother-sister relationship.

He said the relationship between brothers and sisters is not limited to a single festival but represents a lifelong bond of affection, trust and responsibility.

The Chief Minister said the sacred thread of Rakhi would constantly remind him that every sister in Madhya Pradesh is a part of his extended family.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that:

  • Every woman in Madhya Pradesh lives with dignity and security.
  • Girls remain safe.
  • Women become self-reliant.
  • Women receive opportunities to fulfil their aspirations.
  • The government continues to work sensitively for women’s welfare.

Ladli Behna Beneficiaries Thank CM for Additional Assistance

The Gwalior Ladli Behna beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to CM Mohan Yadav for the additional financial assistance provided under the Ladli Behna Yojana on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

They presented a thank-you letter to the Chief Minister as a gesture of appreciation.

The interaction between the Chief Minister and the women created an atmosphere of affection and trust at the airport, with the Raksha Bandhan celebration highlighting the government’s focus on women’s welfare and empowerment.

Women CISF Personnel Also Tie Rakhi to CM

The Raksha Bandhan celebration also included two women security personnel deployed at the Gwalior airport.

Raskar Ashwini, from Maharashtra, and Poonam Yadav, from Rajasthan, were unable to travel home for Raksha Bandhan this year because of their duty.

Both women tied rakhis to CM Mohan Yadav at the airport. The moment became emotional as they were away from their families during the festival.

They said that tying Rakhi to the Chief Minister made them feel that they were not missing the presence of a brother during Raksha Bandhan.

CM Mohan Yadav Was in Gwalior for Bhind Programme

CM Mohan Yadav had arrived in Gwalior in connection with his visit to Malanpur industrial area in Bhind district, where he was scheduled to inaugurate the fourth unit of Godrej.

The Chief Minister reached the Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Air Terminal during a transit visit along with Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar and Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Patel.

Several public representatives were also present at the airport, including:

  • Madhusudan Singh Bhadauria, Chairman, Gwalior Development Authority

Senior Officials Present at Gwalior Airport

Several senior administrative and police officials were also present during the Chief Minister’s transit visit.

These included:

  • Divisional Commissioner Manoj Khatri
  • In-charge Inspector General of Police Asit Yadav
  • Collector Ruchika Chauhan
  • Senior Superintendent of Police Dharmveer Singh
  • Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Chaudhary
  • Additional District Magistrate C.B. Prasad

The Raksha Bandhan celebration at the Gwalior airport brought together Ladli Behna beneficiaries and women security personnel, creating an emotional occasion centred on women’s welfare, trust and empowerment.
