Chandigarh: Former IPS officer Ram Singh Yadav has issued a written apology to Abhay Chautala regarding a controversial statement in which he claimed that Chautala was beaten with 39 shoes at a police station. The apology comes after Yadav had previously apologized through a video message.

Background of the Controversy

Earlier, Mr Yadav made a statement alleging that Mr Chautala was physically assaulted at a police station. The statement sparked outrage and led Chautala to take legal action for defamation, seeking damages of Rs 100 crore from Yadav and several others, including two individuals claiming to be journalists.

Written Apology Submitted

On Monday, Mr Yadav submitted a written apology to Abhay Chautala. In his statement, Yadav claimed that his previous remarks were part of a conspiracy to defame Chautala, allegedly involving leaders from both Congress and BJP, as well as other individuals concerned about the rising popularity of the INLD in Haryana.

Chautala’s Response

Mr Chautala emphasized that notices have been sent to all others involved in the conspiracy. He warned that if these individuals do not issue a public apology, they will face court proceedings. Chautala noted that the conspiracy was intended to undermine his reputation and political standing, especially in light of INLD’s growing influence in the state.
