New Delhi: REC Limited, a Maharatna public sector enterprise, has announced the incorporation of a new subsidiary company, Munak Power Transmission Limited, to strengthen its power transmission infrastructure initiatives in Haryana. The move is part of REC’s broader strategy to develop critical transmission assets and support large-scale power evacuation projects.

Purpose of Incorporation

Munak Power Transmission Limited has been established to develop a 400 kV substation at Munak in Haryana and the associated transmission lines required for the evacuation of 800 MW of power from the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant (DCRTPP), Yamunanagar.

The project was allocated by Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPNL) on October 1, 2025, appointing REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) as the Bid Process Coordinator (BPC) under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) framework. Once a successful bidder is selected, the newly incorporated company will be transferred along with its assets and liabilities in line with regulatory norms.
