Patna: REC Limited, a public sector enterprise, organised a Solar Seva Setu Camp at Triveniganj in Supaul district, Bihar, to accelerate the adoption of rooftop solar energy under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The initiative aimed to improve last-mile outreach, simplify access to subsidies and bank financing, and raise awareness about the benefits of rooftop solar installations among consumers.
Dileshwar Kamait, Member of Parliament from Supaul, attended the camp as the Chief Guest. Senior administrative officials, officers from North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL), bank representatives, vendors, public representatives and consumers also participated in the programme.
The camp focused on helping eligible households understand the financial assistance available under the scheme and encouraging them to adopt clean energy solutions to reduce electricity expenses.
REC Organises Solar Seva Setu Camp in Supaul, Bihar
The Solar Seva Setu Camp was organised at Triveniganj to bring the benefits of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana closer to consumers and facilitate the adoption of residential rooftop solar systems.
The initiative brought together government representatives, power distribution officials, financial institutions and solar vendors to address key aspects of rooftop solar adoption.
The major objectives of the camp included:

As part of the programme, consumers who had already installed rooftop solar systems were felicitated with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their adoption of clean energy.Bank officials were also felicitated for their contribution to facilitating loan disbursement and supporting eligible beneficiaries under the scheme.
In addition, loan cheques were provided to eligible beneficiaries to support the installation of rooftop solar systems.
The key activities included:

- Recognition of bank officials for facilitating credit disbursement.
- Distribution of loan cheques to eligible applicants.
