Union Minister Bhupender Yadav Flags Off REC’s ₹5.71 Cr Mobile Medical Units to Boost Rural Healthcare in Rajasthan

Alwar: In a significant push to improve rural healthcare access in Rajasthan, Union Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change Mr. Bhupender Yadav flagged off five GPS-enabled Mobile Medical Units (MMUs), funded under the CSR initiative of REC Limited, at a ceremony held in Alwar on October 5, 2025.

₹5.71 Crore CSR Support from REC for Three-Year Operation

The Mobile Medical Units, supported by ₹5.71 crore funding from REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power, are being operated in partnership with the Indian Red Cross Society, Alwar Chapter.

The funding will support the MMUs over a three-year period, ensuring sustained medical outreach to underserved populations across Alwar, Bhartari, and Behror-Kotputli regions.

Healthcare at the Doorstep for Over 10,000 Rural Citizens Monthly

Equipped with GPS-enabled tracking, the MMUs will deliver free primary healthcare services, including:

  • Medical consultations
  • Treatment and distribution of medicines
  • Preventive healthcare awareness campaigns

The initiative aims to reach over 10,000 people every month, focusing on tribal and remote villages where access to public healthcare facilities is limited.

Senior officials from the district administration, REC CSR team, and the Indian Red Cross Society

The dignitaries collectively reiterated the importance of corporate-social partnerships in improving healthcare delivery in rural India.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Bhupender Yadav emphasized the government’s commitment to inclusive development and accessible healthcare, particularly in backward and tribal regions. He lauded REC Limited’s efforts in leveraging CSR for impactful grassroots initiatives.
