New Delhi: The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday expressed deep grief and outrage over the tragic loss of lives in the recent terrorist attack near Red Fort, Delhi. The car explosion, which occurred on the evening of November 10, claimed 12 lives and left several others critically injured, sending shockwaves across the nation.

Cabinet Condemns Cowardly Attack, Pays Tribute to Victims

During the meeting, the Cabinet observed a two-minute silence to pay homage to the victims of the blast. A formal resolution was passed, strongly condemning what it termed as a “dastardly and cowardly act” orchestrated by anti-national elements.

Briefing the media after the meeting, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, “The Cabinet unequivocally condemns this heinous act that has led to the loss of innocent lives. The Government of India reiterates its unwavering commitment to a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.”

The resolution also conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and extended prayers for the speedy recovery of those injured. The Cabinet lauded the swift response of Delhi Police, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), and emergency services, whose timely intervention helped contain the situation and ensure effective medical assistance to the victims.

According to official sources, the Prime Minister directed security agencies to intensify intelligence coordination and strengthen counter-terror mechanisms in the national capital and other sensitive areas. He instructed the investigative agencies to pursue the probe with utmost urgency and professionalism to ensure that the perpetrators, collaborators, and sponsors behind the attack are identified and brought to justice at the earliest.

Government Reaffirms Commitment to National Security

The Cabinet reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and underscored that any attempt to destabilize India’s peace and security would be met with a firm and decisive response. The government also assured citizens that all necessary measures are being taken to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
