The Central government has appointed Information Commissioner Retired IAS officer Heeralal Samariya as the new Chief Information Commissioner (CIC).
The President of India Droupadi Murmu swore in Mr. Samariya as the new CIC on Monday.
Heeralal Samariya took over the post after the retirement of former CIC, Yashvardhan Kumar Sinha on October 3.
Mr. Samariya, a retired IAS officer, previously served as the Secretary to the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
