On Monday Nagaland’s environment minister C M Chang died of Covid-19 complications in the state capital. Officials informed that he was 77 and was battling other health issues also. A state funeral will be organised in memory of Chang and the state government has announced a two-day mourning from October 13 to October 14, 2020.
CM Chang was a bureaucrat and worked as Secretary in the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland. In 2002 he voluntarily took his retirement and contested several elections. In 2009 for the first time he got elected to the 15th Lok Sabha from his own state’s constituency. Further he was elected to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly from 51/Noksen constituency under Tuensang district in 2013 and served as Education Minister.
