Retired Rajasthan cadre IPS officer Kishan Sahay Meena has once again found himself in the spotlight—this time for a social media post seeking a rented house in Jaipur.

The former Inspector General (IG), who retired on July 31, 2026 while remaining under Awaiting Posting Orders (APO), has drawn widespread attention after publicly requesting accommodation in the city’s Jagatpura area.

Rental House Appeal Goes Viral

Just two days before his retirement, Kishan Sahay posted on social media that he was looking for a house on rent in Jagatpura.

In his post, he specified that the house should have three rooms, including one guest room with an attached bathroom, along with parking space for two to three vehicles. He added that minor variations in these requirements would also be acceptable.

The post quickly gained traction online, attracting more than 600 comments.

Mixed Reactions on Social Media

Many users praised the retired IPS officer for openly seeking a rented house, describing it as a reflection of simplicity and honesty.

Several others responded by sharing details of available rental properties in Jaipur.

Some users, however, questioned the need for rented accommodation, referring to reports of land allegedly owned by the officer in different parts of Rajasthan.

Retired While Under APO

Kishan Sahay retired from service on July 31 while remaining under Awaiting Posting Orders.

The Rajasthan Police had placed the senior IPS officer under APO in May 2026 following a complaint filed by a woman. He was not assigned any fresh posting thereafter.

Before being placed under APO, he was serving as Inspector General (Human Rights).

Officer Frequently in Public Spotlight

During his career, Kishan Sahay often made headlines for his outspoken public statements.

He had previously described references to God, Jesus, Allah and Waheguru as matters of superstition and questioned their scientific basis.

He also criticised religious speakers, including Premanand Maharaj, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham and Aniruddhacharya, alleging that they promoted beliefs lacking scientific reasoning.

Earlier Faced Suspension

In 2024, Kishan Sahay also came under scrutiny during the Jharkhand Assembly elections.

He was accused of leaving his election duty midway and returning to Jaipur without authorisation, following which he was suspended.

Despite retiring from service, the former IPS officer continues to remain in public discussion, with his latest social media appeal generating significant attention online.
