The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) on Friday, May 2, 2025, recommended Mr. Sanjay Joshi for the position of Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of Oriental Insurance Company Limited (OICL). Mr. Joshi is presently serving as General Manager at United India Insurance Company.

The recommendation followed a detailed evaluation process involving five candidates, during which FSIB assessed their performance, professional experience, and alignment with leadership criteria.
The top post at OICL fell vacant after the retirement of Mr. R.R. Singh in February 2025. Subsequently, Mr. Amit Misra, Executive Director, was appointed as the acting CMD for a three-month term starting March 1, 2025.
Mr. Joshi brings with him over three decades of experience in the general insurance sector. He has held several leadership roles including Branch and Divisional Head across regional offices, worked in the Large Corporate Cell (LCC) in Delhi, served as Deputy General Manager at the company’s head office, and functioned as Chief Grievance Officer.
