Hyderabad/New Delhi: The Telangana government on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, assigned D. Krishna Bhaskar (IAS:2012:TG) the full additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), Hyderabad, following the completion of N. Balram’s (IRS-C&IT:2010) extended deputation tenure in the state on December 4, 2025.

Krishna Bhaskar, who is currently serving as CMD of the Transmission Corporation of Telangana (TRANSCO), has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of leading SCCL until further orders. He also holds the position of Special Secretary to Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

Transition of Leadership at SCCL

N. Balram, who had been serving as Director (Finance) at SCCL, was assigned the full additional charge of CMD in January 2024, following the retirement of then CMD N. Sridhar (IAS:1997:TG) on December 31, 2023. His extended deputation to the Telangana government concluded this month, necessitating his return to the parent cadre.

The leadership transition comes at a crucial time as SCCL continues to play a significant role in coal production and energy supply in the country. The state government has placed confidence in Krishna Bhaskar’s administrative experience to ensure smooth operations and continuity in governance at the company.
