SCI Appoints Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh Additional Charge as Director (Technical & Offshore Services) from June 1, 2026

New Delhi: Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCI) has announced that Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh will hold the additional charge of Director (Technical & Offshore Services) for a temporary period, strengthening its senior leadership structure in line with regulatory approval.

The appointment has been cleared by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and will be effective from June 1, 2026.

Temporary Leadership Assignment Approved by Ministry

According to SCI’s regulatory filing under Regulation 30 of SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015:

  • Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh will assume additional charge from June 1, 2026
  • The tenure will continue till August 31, 2026, or until a permanent appointment is made
  • Approval was granted via communication dated May 21, 2026 by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways

The company clarified that the appointment is purely temporary in nature and complies with regulatory requirements.

Current Role and Expanded Responsibilities

Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh is currently serving as:

  • Director (Liner & Passenger Services), SCI

In addition to his existing responsibilities, he will now oversee the Technical & Offshore Services division, strengthening operational leadership across key business segments.

Strong Maritime and Defence Background

Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh brings over three decades of experience in the Indian Navy, having held several senior positions, including:

  • Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command
  • Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Foreign Cooperation)
  • Principal Director at Naval Headquarters, New Delhi
  • Commanding Officer of destroyers, corvettes, and training establishments

He was awarded the Nau Sena Medal for distinguished service.

Experience in Shipping Sector and SCI Leadership Roles

Beyond his naval career, he has significant experience in the shipping industry:

  • Former Director, Bulk and Tanker Businesses at SCI
  • Board member of SCI subsidiaries including SCI Bharat IFSC Limited
  • Board positions at Inland and Coastal Shipping Ltd and Sethusamudram Corporation Ltd

His combined defence and maritime experience is expected to support SCI’s operational and technical functions.

Education and Professional Credentials

Rear Admiral Singh holds:

  • Postgraduate degree in Business Administration
  • Alumni of Naval Postgraduate School, California, USA
  • Alumni of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington

Regulatory Compliance and Disclosures

SCI confirmed that:

  • The officer is not related to any existing director
  • He is not debarred by SEBI or any regulatory authority
  • The event was disclosed at 5:20 PM on May 21, 2026
