NEW DELHI: REC Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College to strengthen healthcare accessibility for underserved communities in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh.

The agreement was signed on May 21, 2026, as part of REC Foundation’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at improving last-mile healthcare delivery and strengthening medical infrastructure.

₹1.20 Crore Assistance for Mobile Medical Unit

Under the agreement, REC Foundation has committed financial assistance of ₹1.20 crore for the procurement and deployment of one Mobile Medical Unit (MMU), including operational expenses for a period of three years.

The MMU is expected to provide doorstep primary healthcare services to deprived and remote communities with limited access to hospitals and medical facilities.

Officials said the initiative will help ensure timely medical assistance and improve healthcare outreach in underserved areas of Meerut district.

Agreement Signed in Presence of Arun Govil and Senior Officials

The signing ceremony was attended by Arun Govil and Ramesh Gupta along with senior officials of REC Limited.

Senior REC officials present at the event included:

  • TSC Bosh, Director (Projects)
  • Rajesh Kumar, Director (Finance)
  • Arun Kumar Tyagi, Executive Director (CSR)
  • Bhupesh Chandolia, Head of Department (CSR)

Focus on Inclusive Healthcare Development

REC Foundation said the initiative reflects its continued commitment towards inclusive development and improving healthcare accessibility through focused CSR programmes.

The Mobile Medical Unit is expected to play a vital role in extending primary healthcare services to vulnerable populations and strengthening grassroots healthcare delivery systems.

Officials noted that such initiatives are particularly important for communities residing in remote and underserved regions where access to quality healthcare remains limited.
