Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav reviewed ongoing road-widening and development works in Ujjain as preparations for Simhastha 2028 gather pace. He also visited the Shri Chinta Haran Ganesh Temple and sought blessings.
Road Widening Work Reviewed
Yadav inspected the road-widening project from Sati Gate to Gopal Temple and reviewed the construction plan with officials. He also walked from Sati Gate to Chhota Sarafa Square to assess the progress on the ground.
Development Plans for Kanthal Square
The Chief Minister also examined proposed designs for the development of Kanthal Square and the gateway of the ancient Shri Sati Mata Temple.
Ujjain Collector Roshan Kumar Singh and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abhilash Mishra briefed him about the planned works and their implementation.
410-Metre Stretch to Be Beautified
Under the Simhastha preparations, the 410-metre road between Kanthal Square and Chhatri Chowk is being widened to 15 metres.
A 500-square-metre area at Kanthal Square will receive paver-block beautification, while the historic Shri Sati Mata Temple gateway will also be upgraded.
310 Metres of Road Work Completed
Officials said 310 metres of PCC road construction on the 410-metre stretch has already been completed.
Local residents and shopkeepers are also supporting the widening project by voluntarily removing portions of their houses and shops where required.
The development works are aimed at improving connectivity, pedestrian movement and the overall appearance of key areas of Ujjain ahead of Simhastha 2028. Several elected representatives and senior administrative officials accompanied the Chief Minister during the inspection.
