Bhopal/Dhar: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, along with Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, inaugurated advanced optical fibre and battery manufacturing plants in Pithampur, Dhar district, on August 20.
The new facilities, focused on optical fibre and battery manufacturing, are expected to create employment opportunities for more than 30,000 people in the future. The projects mark another major step in strengthening Madhya Pradesh’s industrial and manufacturing ecosystem.
Advanced Optical Fibre and Battery Plants Inaugurated
The two manufacturing facilities inaugurated in Pithampur include plants for advanced optical fibre (Corsis) and battery manufacturing (Volters).
CM Mohan Yadav said the new industries would generate large-scale employment while contributing to the economic development of both Madhya Pradesh and the country.
He highlighted that the facilities represent modern industrial development and are expected to provide new opportunities for the state’s youth.

Over 30,000 Employment Opportunities Expected
Speaking to the media after the inauguration, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the two employment-oriented industries are expected to provide jobs to more than 30,000 people in the future.
The projects are focused on manufacturing technologies that are increasingly important for the digital and clean-energy sectors.
Key highlights include:
- Location: Pithampur, Dhar district
- Major sectors: Optical fibre and battery manufacturing
- Employment potential: More than 30,000 people
- Technology: German technology-based industrial facilities
- Products: Digital optical fibre and lithium batteries
German Technology to Support Modern Manufacturing
CM Mohan Yadav highlighted that the industries have been established using German technology, adding that the facilities will contribute to strengthening advanced manufacturing capabilities in the state.
He said the optical fibre and lithium battery units are important for the state’s prosperity as well as India’s broader economic development.
The projects also align with the growing demand for digital connectivity infrastructure and energy-storage technologies.
Dhar Emerging as a Fast-Growing Industrial Region
The Chief Minister said Dhar has undergone a significant transformation in recent years and is now emerging as one of the fastest-growing industrial regions of Madhya Pradesh.
He noted that Dhar, which was earlier known for its relative backwardness, has increasingly developed into an important industrial and economic centre.
Pithampur, in particular, has emerged as a major industrial hub, with new projects and investments expanding the region’s manufacturing base.
Earlier Investment MoUs Moving Towards Ground Implementation
CM Mohan Yadav also pointed to the progress being made on investment agreements signed by the state government.
He said that several MoUs signed earlier are now moving towards implementation on the ground, reflecting the state’s efforts to convert investment commitments into operational industrial projects.
The Chief Minister also noted that he had visited the region for the second time in a month, following the inauguration of several other industrial projects during his previous visit.
Focus on Youth Employment and Economic Growth
The inauguration of the new facilities is expected to strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s manufacturing ecosystem while creating opportunities for skilled and semi-skilled workers.
The projects could also support the development of associated supply chains and services around Pithampur, further contributing to the region’s industrial growth.
With advanced manufacturing facilities in optical fibre and lithium batteries, the state is seeking to expand its presence in sectors linked to digital infrastructure, clean energy and next-generation manufacturing.
