‘Probity for Prosperity’ Theme
Addressing the gathering, CMD Deepak Gupta highlighted the importance of this year’s campaign theme, “सत्यनिष्ठा से समृद्धि / Probity for Prosperity.”
He emphasised that integrity and ethical conduct are fundamental to sustainable growth, organisational excellence and public trust.
The CMD called upon employees across GAIL to actively participate in the three-month campaign and contribute towards strengthening an organisational culture based on probity and responsible conduct.
The theme underlines the link between ethical functioning and long-term organisational performance, with integrity positioned as an essential foundation for sustainable institutional growth.
Preventive Vigilance Beyond Compliance
Deepak Gupta also stressed that preventive vigilance should not be viewed merely as a compliance requirement.
According to him, preventive vigilance represents a strategic and proactive approach towards improving organisational systems and practices.
The approach is intended to help GAIL identify potential vulnerabilities, mitigate risks and prevent irregularities before they occur, while simultaneously promoting sound governance practices.
By strengthening preventive mechanisms rather than focusing only on corrective action, the campaign seeks to further embed vigilance and integrity into GAIL’s day-to-day functioning.
Five Key Focus Areas
The three-month campaign will concentrate on five key areas through a series of activities, workshops, awareness programmes and employee engagement initiatives.
These areas include:
- Disposal of complaints
- Disposal of cases
- Capacity-building programmes
- Digital initiatives
- Contract management
The activities will be conducted across GAIL offices and project sites, with an emphasis on improving systems and enhancing awareness among employees.
The focus on complaint and case disposal is intended to strengthen the efficiency of vigilance-related processes, while capacity-building initiatives will help employees better understand preventive vigilance practices and their role in maintaining organisational integrity.
Digital initiatives and contract management will also receive specific attention, reflecting the importance of technology-driven systems and robust processes in preventing risks and irregularities.
Campaign to Strengthen Good Governance
Through the Preventive Vigilance Campaign 2026, GAIL aims to further integrate the principles of integrity, transparency and accountability into its organisational culture.
The campaign will provide opportunities for employees to participate in awareness programmes and other initiatives designed to strengthen preventive vigilance mechanisms.
The three-month exercise will culminate in the run-up to Vigilance Awareness Week 2026, reinforcing GAIL’s broader commitment to ethical governance and institutional accountability.
GAIL Reaffirms Commitment to Integrity
The launch of the campaign reflects GAIL’s continued emphasis on probity, transparency and accountability as key pillars of organisational governance.
By combining preventive vigilance with capacity building, digital interventions, improved complaint and case disposal mechanisms and stronger contract management practices, the organisation seeks to build systems that can minimise risks and prevent irregularities.
With the theme “Probity for Prosperity,” GAIL has reiterated that ethical conduct and effective governance are integral to achieving sustainable growth and long-term organisational excellence.
