Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav launched the Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan and Kalash Vandan Yatra at Ravindra Bhavan on the occasion of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Maharaj’s 650th birth anniversary year.
The campaign aims to spread Guru Ravidas’ message of equality, social harmony, devotion, service, social justice and humanity across Madhya Pradesh. BJP state president Hemant Khandelwal and National Commission for Scheduled Castes Chairman Lalsingh Arya were also present.
₹100 Crore Temple-Memorial in Sagar
CM Yadav said a grand Guru Ravidas temple and memorial is being built in Sagar at a cost of ₹100 crore. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon be invited for its inauguration.
The state also plans to preserve Guru Ravidas’ belongings and his disciple’s samadhi site in Ujjain, where a grand gurdwara will be developed. Other places associated with Guru Ravidas will also be developed as pilgrimage sites with better facilities.

Kalash Vandan Yatra From August 20
The Kalash Vandan Yatra will begin in every district of Madhya Pradesh on August 20. The sacred kalash contain soil from Guru Ravidas’ birthplace in Kashi.
The kalash will be taken to Ravidas temples, villages and towns. Programmes will include collective prayers, Guruvani recitations, bhajan evenings, Samrasta Sankalp events and community gatherings.

Five-Month Campaign and Student Outreach
The wider Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan will run for five months, with a main Samrasta Sankalp Yatra travelling from Jalandhar through different parts of Madhya Pradesh.
The campaign will focus on Guru Ravidas’ teachings on equality, social justice, service and his vision of Begumpura, while a hostel outreach programme will introduce students to his life and philosophy.
The ongoing Sant Sampark Abhiyan was also highlighted, with more than 29,000 saints reportedly honoured so far.
The initiative seeks to strengthen social harmony and community participation across Madhya Pradesh while connecting people, particularly younger generations, with Guru Ravidas’ teachings.
