New Delhi: State-owned power company SJVN Limited has appointed Arti Kujur as an Independent Director on its Board for a period of three years. The appointment has been made by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, and is effective from July 15, 2026, until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The company disclosed the appointment details through a regulatory filing submitted to the stock exchanges in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
Arti Kujur’s Educational Qualification and Background
Arti Kujur is a social worker from Ranchi, Jharkhand, with extensive experience in public administration, social welfare, and community development.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree, postgraduate degrees in Political Science and Public Administration, and an LL.B. from Ranchi University. Her professional experience includes working closely with rural communities, government departments, and social welfare organisations.
Arti Kujur’s Experience in Ranchi Zila Parishad
Arti Kujur served as a Member of Ranchi Zila Parishad from November 30, 2010, to March 31, 2022. During her tenure, she worked on administrative and developmental issues in rural and tribal areas of Jharkhand.
Her responsibilities included improving access to various government welfare schemes and coordinating with government departments for better implementation of public programmes.
She also worked towards community awareness and helped people access essential services, including:
- Ration card facilities
- Housing schemes
- Electricity connections
- Water supply services
Role as Chairperson of Jharkhand State Commission for Protection of Child Rights
Kujur also served as the Chairperson of the Jharkhand State Commission for Protection of Child Rights under the Women and Child Development Department from April 22, 2016, to April 22, 2019.
During this period, she focused on child protection and welfare-related matters, including:
- Child trafficking
- Child labour
- Malnutrition
- Denial of education
- Child exploitation
- Sexual harassment cases
She coordinated with government authorities, legal bodies, and other agencies for the rescue, rehabilitation, counselling, and legal support of affected children.
SJVN Confirms Appointment Details
SJVN Limited confirmed that Arti Kujur is not related to any existing Director on the company’s Board. The company also stated that she is not debarred from holding the position of Director under any order issued by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
