Bikaner Solar Project: India’s Largest Single-Location EPC Solar Plant

Developed by SGEL, the project is located in Bikaner, Rajasthan, and has been built with an investment of approximately ₹5,492 crore across nearly 5,000 acres.

It stands as:

  • India’s largest single-location EPC solar project
  • Developed under the Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) category
  • A major example of indigenous renewable energy infrastructure

Massive Clean Energy Generation Capacity

The 1000 MW solar project is expected to generate:

  • 2,454.84 million units (MU) in the first year
  • 56,482.14 MU over its 25-year operational life

The electricity generated will be supplied to:

  • Rajasthan – 500 MW
  • Uttarakhand – 200 MW
  • Jammu & Kashmir – 300 MW

This distribution is expected to significantly strengthen India’s clean energy grid.

Major Contribution to Climate Action Goals

The project is estimated to reduce nearly 2.79 billion kilograms of carbon emissions over its lifetime, making it a key contributor to India’s climate commitments and environmental sustainability targets.
