New Delhi: SJVN Limited has informed stock exchanges about a major leadership update in its top management. As per the Ministry of Power order dated 12 May 2026, senior power sector expert Suprakash Adhikari, currently serving as Director (Technical) at NHPC Limited, has been assigned additional charge as Director (Projects) at SJVN.
He assumed the charge on 12 May 2026.
Tenure Details and Appointment Structure
According to the official communication:
- Suprakash Adhikari will hold additional charge of Director (Projects) for one year from 1 August 2025, or until a regular incumbent is appointed, whichever is earlier.
- The tenure of the previous Director (Projects), Sushil Sharma, ended on 31 July 2025, and was not extended by the Ministry of Power.
The transition is part of administrative restructuring to strengthen project execution leadership.

Suprakash Adhikari is a veteran power sector professional with over 36 years of experience in hydropower and renewable energy development.
Education and Career
- Electrical Engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Engineering, Science and Technology (Shibpur)
- Joined NHPC Limited in 1990 as a Probationary Executive

During his long career, Adhikari has played a key role in several large-scale energy projects:
Hydropower and Renewable Energy Leadership
- Commissioning of Parbati-II Hydro Electric Project
- Development of Subansiri Lower Hydro Electric Project
- Execution of 300 MW Solar Power Plant at Bikaner
Operational Excellence
- Headed multiple NHPC power stations and project divisions
- Improved plant performance and maintenance efficiency
- Led early restoration of the Head Race Tunnel at Sewa-II Power Station
He is also currently the Chairman of Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited, further strengthening his experience in solar energy leadership.
