Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has announced a reduction in his official convoy size and confirmed a stronger push toward electric vehicle (EV) adoption in government transport. The move comes in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s nationwide appeal to reduce fuel consumption amid global energy concerns.
The Chief Minister also urged ministers and heads of state-run corporations and boards to use government resources and vehicles more responsibly.
Reduced Convoy and Shift Toward Electric Vehicles
Speaking to reporters in Raipur, CM Sai said the government has already begun reducing the number of vehicles in his official convoy.
He further emphasized that in the coming days, Chhattisgarh will place special focus on integrating electric vehicles into official transport systems.

In a post on social media platform X, CM Vishnu Deo Sai said that conserving petrol and diesel is a “national duty” in the current global energy and environmental crisis.

Push for Public Transport and Carpooling
The Chief Minister also appealed to citizens of Chhattisgarh to adopt sustainable travel habits.

Earlier, Chhattisgarh Finance Minister OP Choudhary also announced voluntary reductions in convoy usage, including avoiding pilot and escort vehicles except in essential security situations.
