Inspired by PM Modi’s Appeal on Fuel and Resource Conservation

Narendra Modi has called for nationwide fuel conservation amid global energy instability, encouraging citizens to reduce petrol and diesel usage and adopt sustainable practices such as public transport, carpooling, and EV adoption.

CM Sai said the state government fully supports this vision and is implementing it in governance practices.

Fuel Conservation as a National Responsibility

In a post on social media platform X, CM Vishnu Deo Sai said that conserving petrol and diesel is a “national duty” in the current global energy and environmental crisis.

He stated that:

  • Only essential vehicles will be used in official convoys
  • Ministers and officials must minimize resource usage
  • Government systems must adopt a disciplined approach to fuel consumption

Push for Public Transport and Carpooling

The Chief Minister also appealed to citizens of Chhattisgarh to adopt sustainable travel habits.

Public Advisory Measures

  • Increased use of public transport
  • Encouragement of carpooling
  • Avoiding unnecessary private vehicle usage
  • Small lifestyle changes for large environmental impact

He said such collective efforts can transform fuel conservation into a “people’s movement” under the spirit of Nation First.

State Plans Phased EV Transition for Government Fleet

CM Sai further announced that the state government plans to gradually convert all government vehicles into electric vehicles in a phased manner.

This initiative aims to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and support India’s broader clean energy and environmental sustainability goals.

Wider Government Support for the Initiative

Earlier, Chhattisgarh Finance Minister OP Choudhary also announced voluntary reductions in convoy usage, including avoiding pilot and escort vehicles except in essential security situations.

The coordinated approach reflects a broader administrative shift toward austerity and responsible governance.

About Chhattisgarh Government’s Green Mobility Push

The Chhattisgarh government is focusing on promoting electric mobility, reducing fuel consumption, and improving sustainability in public administration. The initiative aligns with national efforts to strengthen energy conservation and reduce environmental impact through cleaner transportation systems.
