Shimla: SJVN Limited has been conferred the Rajbhasha Shield Third Prize by the Ministry of Power for its excellent implementation of the Rajbhasha policy during 2025-26.
The prestigious award was presented by Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs Manohar Lal to SJVN Chairman and Managing Director Bhupender Gupta during the Hindi Advisory Committee meeting held in New Delhi.
SJVN Recognised for Rajbhasha Policy Implementation
The award recognises SJVN’s continued efforts to promote and enhance the use of Rajbhasha Hindi across its projects and units.
According to SJVN CMD Bhupender Gupta, the company has undertaken various initiatives to make Hindi an integral part of its official functioning and organisational work culture.
The recognition also acknowledges the collective efforts of SJVN employees in encouraging the wider use of Hindi in the organisation.

Senior Officials Attend Hindi Advisory Committee Meeting
Several senior officials and public representatives were present during the Hindi Advisory Committee meeting in New Delhi.
The attendees included:
- Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for Power
- Dinesh Sharma, Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament
- Suresh Kumar Kashyap, Lok Sabha Member of Parliament
- Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Power, Government of India
- Senior officials of the Ministry of Power
- Representatives of PSUs, institutions and corporations under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power
Ministry of Power Rajbhasha Award Encourages Hindi Usage
The Rajbhasha Shield Award has been instituted by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, to recognise and encourage PSUs, institutions and corporations under its administrative control for their efforts towards the use and promotion of Hindi.
Entries received by the Ministry are evaluated on various parameters related to the implementation of the Rajbhasha policy.
The award therefore recognises organisations that demonstrate sustained efforts to integrate Hindi into their official communication and day-to-day functioning.
SJVN Promotes Hindi Across Projects and Units
SJVN has been undertaking initiatives to increase the use of Rajbhasha Hindi across its projects and organisational units.
The company said the award reflects its continued commitment to strengthening Hindi as part of its official functioning and workplace culture.
