New Delhi: The Government of India has approved the appointment of two senior officers as Deputy Secretaries in separate central departments under the Central Staffing Scheme. Both officers will serve on deputation for a tenure of up to four years.

Lal Jha to Join CGPDTM, New Delhi

Lal Jha, a 2012-batch officer of the Indian Ordnance Factory Service (IOFS), will take charge as Deputy Secretary in the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (CGPDTM), New Delhi. The CGPDTM functions under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and plays a pivotal role in the administration of intellectual property rights in India.

His appointment is on deputation basis for four years from the date he assumes office or until further orders, whichever comes earlier. The posting places him in a crucial administrative role supporting India’s patent, design, and trademark operations.

Pooja Awana to Oversee Key Role in DIPAM

Ms. Pooja Awana, a 2012-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the Rajasthan cadre, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Investment & Public Asset Management (DIPAM), Delhi. DIPAM, under the Ministry of Finance, manages the government’s equity in public sector enterprises and oversees strategic disinvestment initiatives.

Her deputation will also be for four years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier. This assignment positions her in a department central to the government’s asset monetisation and disinvestment policy execution.

Immediate Relieving Orders Issued

The Competent Authority has directed that both officers be relieved from their current postings immediately to enable them to join their new assignments without delay. These appointments highlight the regular movement of senior officers through the Central Staffing Scheme, ensuring experienced leadership across critical policy and administrative domains.
