Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has assigned new responsibilities to two senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. Prem Anand Sinha (IPS: 2001: Chhattisgarh) has been posted as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) and Director of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption in Chennai, while Dr A Amalraj (IPS: 1996: Tamil Nadu), the Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai Police, has been given full additional charge of ADGP/Commissioner of Police, Tambaram.
The appointments were reported on October 10 by Whispers in the Corridors.
Prem Anand Sinha to Head Vigilance and Anti-Corruption
Prem Anand Sinha, a 2001-batch IPS officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre, has been assigned the responsibility of ADGP/Director of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), Chennai.

Sinha has held senior police leadership responsibilities in Tamil Nadu, including serving as Commissioner of Police, Avadi.
The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Directorate investigates allegations of corruption and misconduct involving public servants in Tamil Nadu.

Dr A Amalraj Given Additional Charge of Tambaram Police
Dr A Amalraj, a 1996-batch IPS officer belonging to the Tamil Nadu cadre, will hold full additional charge as ADGP/Commissioner of Police, Tambaram, alongside his responsibility as Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai Police.
The official IPS Civil List identifies Amalraj as a Tamil Nadu-cadre officer of the 1996 batch. He has previously served in several senior policing roles in the state, including assignments in the Tambaram, Coimbatore and Tiruchy police commissionerates.
