The state government of Telanagana has been honoured with the prestigious International Green Apple Award for Beautiful Buildings. In a ceremony held at St. Paul Cathedral, London, Arvind Kumar, Special Chief Secretary, MA&UD, received the award on behalf of the government. It is the first time that any building/structures from India were awarded the prestigious Green Apple awards, and by receiving five awards in five different categories, Telangna received the maximum number of awards, followed by CBRE, UK and Qatar.
The buildings from Telangana that received awards include Moazzam Jahi Market Durgam Cheruvu, Cable Bridge, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat Building, Integrated Command Control Centre of the State Police and Yadagirigutta Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam in (Heritage restoration, Bridges, Office Space, Institutions, Temples and religious structures categories.
Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao congratulated Mr. Kumar and the whole state, calling it a proud moment. He said that this recognition is a testament of Telangana’s dedication towards sustainable urban development and architectural excellence.
