Telangana: Govt Transfers 13 IAS & 8 IFS Officers in Major Reshuffle, Smita Sabharwal Made Secy, Youth Advancement, Tourism & Culture Dept

The Revanth Reddy led Telangana Government has announced a significant administrative reshuffle, with the transfer of 13 senior IAS officers and eight IFS officers. Among the key transfers, Smita Sabharwal, member secretary of the State Finance Commission, and Excise Commissioner E Sridhar were among those moved to new posts.

Key IAS Transfers:

2001 bath IAS officer Smita Sabharwal, previously the Member Secretary of the State Finance Commission, has been appointed as the Secretary to the Government, Youth Advancement, Tourism & Culture Department. She has also been given the additional charge as the Member Secretary of the State Finance Commission and the Director of Archaeology.

2004 batch IAS officer E Sridhar, who was serving as the Commissioner of Prohibition & Excise, has been transferred to the position of Secretary to the Government, BC Welfare Department. He will also hold the additional charge as Commissioner of Endowments.

2004 batch IAS officer Anita Ramachandran, the Commissioner of Panchayat Raj & Rural Development, has been appointed as the Secretary to the Government, Women & Child Development and SC Welfare Department, relieving TK Sreedevi from the additional charge.

2005 batch IAS officer Ilambarithi K, the Commissioner of Transport, has been moved to head the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) as the new Commissioner, while K Surendra Mohan has been appointed as the new Transport Commissioner.

2009 batch IAS officer Chevvuru Hari Kiran, who was previously awaiting posting, has been assigned the role of Prohibition & Excise Director.

D Krishna Bhaskar, previously the Special Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister and Special Secretary in the Finance & Planning Department, has been appointed as the CMD of TRANSCO, relieving Sandeep Kumar Sultania from the post. He will also hold the additional charge as Special Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister.

Siva Sankar Lotheti, another officer awaiting posting, has been appointed as the CEO of Arogyasri Health Care Trust, replacing RV Karnan.

Srijana G, also previously awaiting posting, has been posted as the Director, Panchayat Raj & Rural Development.

Chittem Lakshmi has been appointed as the new Director of AYUSH, relieving Christina Z Chongthu from the additional charge.

Krishna Aditya S, the current Labour Director, has been transferred to become the Director of Intermediate Education and Secretary of the Board of Intermediate Education. He will also hold the additional charge as the VC & MD of Telangana Education & Welfare Infrastructure Development Corporation (TGWEIDC).

Sanjay Kumar, currently serving as the Principal Secretary to the Government in the Labour, Employment, Training, and Factories Department, will take over the additional charge of the Commissioner of Labour, following Krishna Aditya S’s transfer.

Gaurav Uppal, the Resident Commissioner of Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi, will now hold the additional charge as Secretary to Government (Coordination) in the General Administration Department.

IFS Officers’ Transfers:

2003 batch Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Priyanka Varghese, the Chief Conservator of Forests (IT&WP), has been moved to head the Charminar Circle as the new Chief Conservator of Forests.

Sivala Ram Babu has been appointed as the District Forest Officer, Jogulamba Circle, Mahabubnagar, after being transferred from the STC Circle, Hyderabad. He will also hold the additional charge as Field Director of Amrabad Tiger Reserve.

Sunil S. Hiremath, the Curator of the Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad, will now serve as the Director of Zoo Parks, Hyderabad.

P Sreenivasa Rao, the Joint Director/Deputy Conservator of Forests at FCRI, Mulugu, has been transferred as the District Forest Officer for Siddipet.

SV Pradeep Kumar Setty, the Director of Urban Forestry at HMDA, has been transferred to the post of Deputy Conservator of Forests, STC Circle, Hyderabad.

K Srinivas will serve as the Director of Urban Forestry, HMDA, on deputation.

J Vasantha, the District Forest Officer from Jayashankar Bhupalpally, has been transferred as the Curator of Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad.

Mandadi Naveen Reddy, the District Forest Officer for Jogulamba Gadwal & Wanaparthy, will now take charge as the District Forest Officer of Jayashankar Bhupalpally.

This reshuffle, which impacts key administrative and forest-related positions in the state, is expected to bring new dynamics to the governance of Telangana. The transfers also align with the government’s ongoing efforts to streamline various departments and enhance efficiency across sectors.
