Telangana Govt Transfers 30 IAS Officers in Major Bureaucratic Overhaul, Priyanka Ala Appointed Hyderabad Collector

Telangana government reshuffled nearly 30 IAS officers, appointing Priyanka Ala as Hyderabad Collector and reassigning several top officials across key departments.

In one of the most significant administrative reshuffles in recent months, the Telangana government on Saturday night transferred nearly 30 IAS officers across various cadres, triggering a major reorganisation in the state’s bureaucracy.

The reshuffle prominently included the transfer of Hyderabad District Collector Hari Chandana Dasari and the appointment of Priyanka Ala as the new Hyderabad Collector.

Priyanka Ala Takes Charge as Hyderabad Collector

A 2016-batch IAS officer of the Telangana cadre, Priyanka Ala, has been appointed as the new Hyderabad Collector.

She has previously served as Secretary of the Telangana Public Service Commission and as Collector of Bhadradri Kothagudem district. Her appointment is seen as a significant move in the state capital’s administrative setup.

Key Senior-Level Changes

Among the major changes, Special Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar has been moved to Telangana Bhavan in Delhi.

M Dana Kishore has been appointed Special Chief Secretary of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development and will continue to serve as Secretary to the Governor.

Hari Chandana Dasari has now been appointed Secretary of Labour and Employment, replacing Dana Kishore. She will also hold additional charge of the Revenue Disaster Management Department.

Krishna Aditya, Director and Secretary of the Board of Intermediate Education, has been made Special Secretary of Industries and Commerce.

District Collectors Reshuffled

Seven district collectors have been transferred in the latest exercise.

Sangareddy District Collector P Pravinya has been posted as Special Secretary of Roads and Buildings.

Khammam District Collector Anudeep Durishetty has been made Joint Secretary in the Information Technology, Electronics and Communications Department, with additional charge of Mines and Geology.

Nirmal Collector Abhilasha Abhinav has been appointed Director and Secretary of the Board of Intermediate Education.

At the district level:

  • Bhavesh Mishra has been posted as Nirmal Collector
  • Prateek Jain as Sangareddy Collector
  • TS Divakara as Khammam Collector
  • Bhorkhade Hemant Sahadeorao as Mulugu Collector
  • Cheka Priyanka as Narayanpet Collector
  • Hemant Keshav Patil as Nagarkurnool Collector

Changes in Welfare and Health Departments

Civil Supplies Director Zendage Hanumant Kondiba has been posted as CEO of Aarogyasri Health Care Trust.

Tribal Welfare Director BM Santhosh has been appointed Special Secretary to the Government, Tribal Welfare.

B Viziendira, Secretary of TGWREIS, has been shifted to the Scheduled Castes Department.

GHMC and Additional Collector-Level Transfers

The government also reshuffled six zonal commissioners in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), indicating a broad overhaul of the city’s civic administration.

GHMC Zonal Commissioner G Mukunda Reddy has been appointed Special Commissioner of the Information and Public Relations Department.

GHMC Zonal Commissioner Apurv Chauhan has been posted as Project Director (CMRO) in the Office of the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration.

Additional collector-level transfers include:

  • Lenin Vatsal Toppo as Project Officer, ITDA Eturunagaram
  • Kiranmayi Koppisetti as Additional Collector (Local Bodies), Rangareddy
  • Yuvraj Marmat as Additional Collector (Local Bodies), Asifabad

The large-scale transfers reflect the Telangana government’s intent to realign administrative responsibilities and strengthen governance across departments and districts.
