THDC India Limited, a prominent Central Public Sector Enterprise, played a crucial role in hosting the official study visit of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on the Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty-Ninth Amendment) Bill, 2024 and the Union Territories Laws Amendment Bill, 2024. The two-day visit took place in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, from May 21 to May 22, 2025.
The high-level delegation was led by the Chairperson of the Joint Parliamentary Committee, Mr. P P Chaudhary, and included several Members of Parliament along with senior officials from the Ministry of Law and Justice.
Adding weight to the event, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami, and the Speaker of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly, Ms. Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, actively participated in the discussions. Their presence underlined the Uttarakhand government’s commitment to inclusive democratic governance and policy reform.
THDC India Limited (THDCIL), as one of the principal hosts, coordinated the visit seamlessly. The event also witnessed the participation of other major Public Sector Undertakings such as NTPC, NHPC, and REC. THDCIL was represented by Mr. Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), who reiterated the company’s dedication to national development and active policy engagement.
The successful conduct of the visit reaffirmed THDCIL’s stature not just in infrastructure and energy development, but also as a responsible stakeholder in supporting legislative processes and democratic dialogue.
