Lucknow: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government has approved ₹9.97 crore (997 lakh) for tourism development in Bulandshahr, Chandauli, and Chitrakoot. The initiative aims to strengthen tourism infrastructure across key religious and cultural destinations in the state.
A total of 17 development projects will be implemented to enhance facilities for tourists and pilgrims while preserving the region’s spiritual heritage.
Bulandshahr: ₹3.15 Crore for Temple Development Projects
In Bulandshahr district, the government has sanctioned ₹315 lakh for 5 tourism projects focused on temple renovation and beautification.
Key developments include:
- Siddh Baba (Kal Bhairav) Temple in Syana’s Unchagaon – ₹52 lakh
- Chhoti Mata Temple in Anupshahr – ₹76 lakh
- Buddha Mahasabha Institute in Khurja
- Maa Ashwar Devi Temple in Dibai
- Shiv Temple in Shikarpur
These projects aim to enhance religious tourism and improve visitor experience.

Chandauli: ₹4.76 Crore Investment in Religious & Rural Tourism
Chandauli district has received the highest allocation of ₹476 lakh for 6 major projects aimed at promoting both religious and rural tourism.
Major highlights include:
- Beautification of temples in Mughalsarai, Sakaldiha, and Saiyadraja
- ₹144 lakh allocated for Mahalakshmi Mahadouri Devi Temple in Chahania
- Tourism development in Aurwatand, Chakia to promote rural tourism
This investment is expected to boost tourism-driven economic activity in the region.
Chitrakoot: ₹2.06 Crore to Enhance Sacred Pilgrimage Sites
In the spiritually significant district of Chitrakoot, the government has approved ₹206 lakh for 6 tourism projects.
Key developments include:
- ₹80 lakh for Paleshwar Nath Temple
- ₹50 lakh for construction at Tamasa Ganga River’s Valmiki Ghat
- Development of Ram Shaiya site
- Tourist facility center in Sitapur Kheri
- Parikrama path at Maharshi Ashram in Lalapur
These upgrades aim to improve pilgrimage infrastructure in the sacred land of Lord Ram.

Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said the government’s priority is to preserve Uttar Pradesh’s rich religious and cultural heritage.
He emphasized that these projects will:
- Bring lesser-known religious sites onto the tourism map
- Improve infrastructure and visitor facilities
- Strengthen spiritual tourism
- Generate new employment opportunities at the local level
