Uttarakhand CM Dhami Announces 70-80% Subsidy Under Apple Mission to Boost Agriculture and Horticulture

At Haridwar Mango Festival, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami highlights farmer welfare schemes, Himalaya Brand promotion, and government initiatives to strengthen Uttarakhand’s agriculture and horticulture sector.

Haridwar: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has highlighted the state government’s initiatives to promote agriculture and horticulture, including 70-80% subsidy under the Apple Mission, during the Mango Festival held in Haridwar.

The Chief Minister participated in the event on Tuesday, inspected an exhibition showcasing different varieties of mangoes, and interacted with farmers and people associated with horticulture.

Dhami said that such festivals play an important role in giving agriculture, horticulture, and farmers a new identity while creating better market opportunities for local products.

Mango Festival Showcases Uttarakhand’s Horticulture Potential

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dhami said he felt proud to participate in the Mango Festival and appreciated the quality and taste of mangoes produced in Haridwar.

He said the exhibition of different mango varieties reflects the rich horticulture potential of Uttarakhand.

The Chief Minister added that participating in the festival during the preparations for the Kanwar Mela made the occasion even more special.

Government Focusing on Farmers’ Income Growth

CM Dhami said respecting the hard work and contribution of farmers is a priority for the state government.

He highlighted that several steps are being taken to increase farmers’ income and encourage agricultural activities in Uttarakhand.

The government is working towards:

  • Increasing income opportunities for farmers
  • Promoting agriculture and horticulture activities
  • Providing benefits of Minimum Support Price (MSP) to farmers
  • Supporting modern farming and allied sectors

He said the state government has taken significant steps to ensure farmers receive the benefits of government schemes.

70-80% Subsidy Under Apple Mission to Boost Horticulture

The Chief Minister said Uttarakhand is promoting horticulture through various missions and schemes.

Under the Apple Mission, farmers are being provided 70% to 80% subsidy to encourage apple cultivation in the state.

Along with apple production, the government is also promoting:

  • Kiwi Mission
  • Dragon fruit cultivation
  • Mehak Kranti initiative
  • Industries based on aromatic and medicinal plants

Dhami said naturally prepared perfumes without chemicals are witnessing increasing demand in national and international markets, creating new opportunities for farmers and entrepreneurs.

Himalaya Brand Giving Global Recognition to Women Entrepreneurs

CM Dhami said the Himalaya Brand, launched under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is helping products prepared by Uttarakhand’s women gain recognition across India and globally.

He said improved quality and attractive packaging have increased the brand value of local products from the state.

The initiative is providing a platform for the products created by Uttarakhand’s Maatrushakti (women workforce) and helping them reach wider markets.

Uttarakhand’s Major Policy Decisions Highlighted

During the event, Chief Minister Dhami also mentioned several major decisions taken by the state government, including:

  • Uniform Civil Code (UCC)
  • Anti-copying law
  • Anti-conversion law

He said these decisions have created a new example and received attention across the country.

Dhami also stated that the government is committed to providing modern, quality, and equal education opportunities to children from all sections of society.

New Education Authority for Madrasa Education Reform

The Chief Minister said steps have been taken to improve the madrasa education system in Uttarakhand.

A new education authority has been created to bring reforms, with participation from different minority communities to ensure better education standards.

Uttarakhand Emerging as Leading State in Multiple Sectors

CM Dhami said Uttarakhand is emerging as a leading state in areas such as:

  • Sustainable development
  • Agriculture
  • Horticulture
  • Fisheries
  • Tourism
  • Investment
  • Mining

He also mentioned that the Government of India awarded the state ₹200 crore for outstanding work in the mining sector.

The Chief Minister said Haridwar must continue moving forward on the path of development and that development projects should not stop under any circumstances.

Mango Festival to Provide Market Opportunities for Farmers

Dhami said events like the Mango Festival help farmers and local producers get recognition and better market access.

Such initiatives encourage farmers, promote horticulture activities, and create new possibilities for agricultural growth in Uttarakhand.

The event was attended by several ministers, public representatives, senior government officials, police officials, and local residents, including Cabinet Minister Ramsingh Kaida, officials from the district administration, and other dignitaries.
