Dehradun: In a significant step toward strengthening public employment and skill development, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami distributed appointment letters to 221 selected candidates recruited through the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC). The appointments span multiple departments including Urban Development, Skill Development & Employment, and Animal Husbandry.
The event highlighted the state government’s ongoing focus on transparent recruitment, youth employment, and self-reliance initiatives.
Appointment Letters Distributed Across Multiple Departments
A total of 221 candidates received appointment letters during the ceremony held at Mukhya Sevak Sadan in Dehradun. The distribution included:
- 173 Instructor posts under the Skill Development and Employment Department
- 4 Personal Assistants under the Skill Development and Employment Department
- 9 Personal Assistants in the Animal Husbandry Department
- 35 Assistant Accountants in the Urban Development Department
Chief Minister Dhami congratulated all selected candidates and described the moment as the “golden result of years of hard work and struggle.”
Government’s Focus on Youth Employment and Opportunities
CM Dhami said that over the past four and a half years, the state government has provided government jobs to more than 33,000 youths, reflecting a strong commitment to employment generation.
He emphasized that youth are the “greatest asset” of Uttarakhand and said the government is working on a dual strategy of:
- Expanding government job opportunities
- Promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship
He also highlighted ongoing initiatives such as the Startup Policy, Mukhyamantri Swarozgar Yojana, and other youth-focused schemes aimed at strengthening economic and technical skills.
Push for Transparency and Fast Recruitment
The Chief Minister reiterated that recruitment processes in the state are being conducted with greater speed and transparency. He said the government has taken strict action against cheating networks and implemented one of the country’s toughest anti-copying laws.
He also directed departments to ensure that vacant posts are filled without delay and through fair and transparent procedures.
Youth as Partners in State Development
Addressing the newly appointed candidates, CM Dhami said they are not just government employees but also partners in Uttarakhand’s development journey. He encouraged them to work with the principles of:
- Simplification
- Solution-oriented governance
- Resolution
- Public satisfaction
He added that under the vision of “Developed India 2047”, youth must actively contribute to nation-building.
Political Leadership and Administrative Support
Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bahuguna said that recruitment processes are now being completed within fixed timelines and that talented youth are securing jobs based on merit. He added that thousands of appointments have been made without complaints in recent years.
Cabinet Minister Ram Singh Kaira also noted that appointments are being made without recommendations or favoritism. He mentioned that in the last two years alone, 215 people were appointed in the Urban Development Department, and today 35 assistant accountants received appointment letters.
Other dignitaries present at the event included Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, MLAs Umesh Sharma “Kau” and Savita Kapoor, Gaushala Commission Chairman Rajendra Anthwal, senior officials including Nitesh Jha and C. Ravishankar, along with other public representatives.
Government’s Broader Vision for Youth Empowerment
CM Dhami emphasized that the state government is continuously working to improve employment opportunities while promoting startups and entrepreneurship. He said youth empowerment remains central to Uttarakhand’s development strategy, supported by skill development programs and financial assistance schemes.
He concluded that the government will continue to ensure transparent, timely, and fair recruitment processes while strengthening opportunities for the youth across the state.
