Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial allocations totalling ₹63 crore for various development and construction works, including preparations for the Kumbh Mela-2027 and road strengthening projects across the state.
Of the total amount, ₹38.25 crore has been approved for various works under Kumbh Mela-2027, while ₹24.32 crore has been sanctioned for strengthening and improvement of four roads.
₹24.32 Crore for Four Roads
The four road projects receiving approval are:
- Jata-Pathela-Khansi Motor Road in Naugaon, Uttarkashi: ₹3.44 crore for strengthening and bituminous work on the remaining portion.
- Gadarpur-Balrampur-Naidiliganj Road in Udham Singh Nagar: ₹8.66 crore for strengthening the stretch from Tejafauja through Balram Nagar village to ANK Inter College, Gularbhoj.
- Old NH-125 to Sukha Pul via Lohiya Head Motor Road in Khatima: ₹6.14 crore for strengthening work.
- Chandak Road in Pithoragarh: ₹6.08 crore to convert the existing single-lane road into a one-and-a-half-lane road and carry out improvement work.
Together, these four road projects account for ₹24.32 crore.
₹38.25 Crore for Kumbh-2027 Works
The remaining ₹38.25 crore has been approved for various development and construction works related to the Kumbh Mela-2027. The approvals form part of the state’s ongoing preparations for the event in Haridwar.
The state government has previously approved major infrastructure projects for Kumbh preparations, including works related to roads, bridges, ghats and urban infrastructure in Haridwar. In July, the government announced four Haridwar-Ganga Corridor projects worth about ₹235 crore.
Other Approval
An amount of ₹7.66 lakh has also been approved for the first phase of construction of eight residential units at the External Court, Ukhimath, in Rudraprayag district. These include two Type-I, four Type-II and two Type-III residences.
