Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Mahak Kranti Policy 2026-36 and laid the foundation for five new satellite centers for aromatic crops across Uttarakhand, marking a major step toward promoting sustainable and profitable farming. The launch event was held at the Aroma Plant Center in Selakui, Dehradun, where the CM also inaugurated the Bhauwala satellite center and the AMS (C-14) laboratory at the Selakui plant.
Five Satellite Centers for Aroma Crops
The newly announced satellite centers will be set up across five districts:
- Chamoli & Almora: Damask Rose
- Pithoragarh: Timur (Timur pepper)
- Champawat: Tejpat (Indian Bay Leaf)
- Uttarkashi: Timur and Damask Rose
These centers are designed to provide farmers with all necessary resources for aromatic crop cultivation in one place, including nursery facilities, technical support, and guidance on farming and processing practices.

Goals and Subsidy Support under Mahak Kranti Policy
The Mahak Kranti Policy aims to connect 91,000 farmers with aromatic crop cultivation over the next ten years, enhancing their income and promoting sustainable agriculture. Farmers will receive subsidies ranging from 50% to 80% for nursery development, cultivation, and processing:
- 80% subsidy for cultivation on one hectare of land
- 50% subsidy for cultivation exceeding one hectare
This initiative seeks to boost the production of high-value aromatic crops while supporting small and marginal farmers in the state.

Support from State Leadership
The launch was attended by CM Pushkar Singh Dhami and Agriculture and Horticulture Minister Ganesh Joshi, who emphasized the importance of the policy in enhancing farmer income and promoting the aromatic crop sector. Nrupendra Singh Chauhan, Director of Selakui Aroma Plant Center, highlighted that the five satellite centers would act as regional hubs, providing farmers easy access to plant material, technical guidance, and processing facilities.
