Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized that the state can achieve true development only by following the path of truth, equality, and humanity shown by Baba Guru Ghasidas. He made this statement while addressing the Guru Ghasidas Jayanti and three-day fair organized at Lalpur, Mungeli district today.
New College and Development Projects Announced
During the event, Chief Minister Mr. Sai announced several initiatives aimed at boosting education, infrastructure, and community development:
- Establishment of a new college in Lalpur.
- Increase in fair organization funds from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 15 lakh.
- Sanction of Rs. 25 lakh for the construction of an entrance gate at the program venue.
- Allocation of Rs. 25 lakh for renovation of the Mungeli Satnam Bhavan.
The announcements reflect the government’s commitment to holistic development of the region and its cultural institutions.

Prayers and Cultural Observances
Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai began the program by offering prayers at the Baba Guru Ghasidas temple and Jaithkham, seeking blessings for the happiness, prosperity, and welfare of Chhattisgarh. On the occasion, the Satnam Code of Conduct and an awareness calendar were also released to promote the values of Baba Guru Ghasidas.
Progress and Welfare Initiatives Highlighted
Mr. Sai highlighted the achievements of his government during the first two years in office, including:
- 18 lakh houses sanctioned under various housing schemes.
- Full commitment to purchasing paddy from all eligible farmers, ensuring farmer welfare.
- Expansion of paddy cultivation areas and increase in the number of farmers.
- Mahtari Vandan Yojana benefiting 70 lakh women in the state.
- Ensuring transparency in the PSC selection process.
Implementation of a new industrial policy, promoting entrepreneurship among all sections of society.
The Chief Minister called for collective cooperation in developing Chhattisgarh in line with Baba Guru Ghasidas’ vision.
Focus on Scheduled Castes and Inclusive Development
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Arun Sao highlighted that the Scheduled Castes Authority has been strengthened, with its budget increased from Rs. 50 crore to Rs. 75 crore.
Cabinet Minister Mr. Guru Khushwant Saheb noted the government’s focus on inclusive development, citing initiatives like providing Rs. 15 lakh each to five talented SC youth for pilot training, reflecting a forward-looking approach to empowering marginalized communities.

The Guru Ghasidas Jayanti program witnessed participation from various dignitaries and public representatives, including:
